Bob Budah, Director
Bob grew up at Park Shore as a camper then went on to work at the camp experiencing all jobs from maintenance to head lifeguard and then Director. Bob then went to the University of Miami to study Marine Biology but realized that his true love was Park Shore. He received his degree in Education from C.W. Post University and taught 3rd and 4th grade in Half Hollow Hills. After many years of teaching and working summers at the camp he became a full-time director and focused all his energy on creating new programs and facilities at Park Shore. Bob was the first camp owner to train at Walt Disney World. That experience enabled him to create Disney Dynamics in camping and many of those innovations are still being used today at Park Shore. His quest for keeping Park Shore on the cutting edge inspired him to start the only Extreme STEAM Science Kids Camp. Bob never rests on his past performances, he is always looking for something new and exciting to energize all the children at Park Shore. You may also see Bob on a tractor or lawnmower after camp. His love for Park Shore shows from his “POS” Positively Outrageous Service, and his innovative enthusiasm down to every blade of grass.
Chuck Budah, Director
Chuck has been at Park Shore his entire life. He grew up as a camper, counselor and director. Needless to say, he has done it all and is involved in all aspects of the running of Park Shore. He enjoys helping campers and parents to ensure they have a positive experience while at Park Shore. Chuck’s wife is an RN in the Northwell Health System. He also has two daughters and one granddaughter. Chuck is an avid tennis player in addition to enjoying all sports.
Dianne Vitucci, Camp Operations Director & School Educational Director, Team Member since 1988
Dianne has held many positions during her tenure at Park Shore. She currently enjoys being the Camp Operations Director during the summer and Educational Director during the school year. Dianne has the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of the camp and school. She plays an integral part in the planning and execution of all programming and curriculum throughout the year as well as overseeing all staff members. If asked, Dianne will say that watching the children from Park Shore grow up and become young adults and work for her has been a highlight of her work experiences. When Dianne is not at Park Shore she enjoys spending time with her family and her Dalmatian, Maximus.
Mike Levy, Associate Director of Operations, Team Member since 2009
Mike started out as a camper, then a counselor, and then Senior Boys Director. As Associate Director of Operations, Mike is now responsible for daily camp operations. He supervises staff members and assists in the planning of camp events. Communicating with the families of Park Shore campers is also an important part of Mike’s daily responsibilities. When he is not working at Park Shore, Mike is a high school Social Studies teacher. He has a BA in Secondary Education from the University of Miami and a Master’s Degree in History from LIU Post.
Jackie Pearsall, Preschool Division Director, Team Member since 2006
Over the summer you can find Jackie overseeing our youngest campers making sure they are having the time of their life, whether it’s at Baking and Cooking, Swimming or just going on a nature walk. She is here to fulfill the needs and requests for you and your child. Jackie’s first two summers she was a specialist in the Preschool Division and knew she wanted to do more. During the school year Jackie is the Physical Education teacher at Park Shore so she gets the privilege of seeing many of these unbelievable faces all year! She lives in Commack with her family and has two amazing boys who both attend Park Shore. She looks forward to making special memories with our campers every summer!
Gaby Supek, Preschool Division Director, Team Member since 2010
Gaby has had the opportunity to hold many exciting positions at Park Shore but being a Preschool Director is by far her favorite. She looks forward to working with the youngest campers and their families to ensure they have a successful summer. Gaby has two children who who attend Park Shore as campers. The summer is always their favorite time. During the school year she is an elementary school teacher. Gaby teaches fifth grade for the DOE in East Elmhurst, Queens. Although she loves to teach, she can’t wait for the camp season to begin!
Lillian Scannell, Junior Girls Director, Team Member since 2017
Lillian is spending her first summer as a member of our camp staff, but is no stranger to the Park Shore family. As a local mom whose kids have been attending camp and school since the toddler program, Lillian is also a part of our amazing preschool teaching staff. She has a masters degree in childhood and special education. Lillian’s positive energy, expertise and experience with children will only help to make this summer one of the best yet.
Lillian is excited to spend her summer with all of the amazing campers and staff, watching them smile and enjoy all that camp has to offer.
Eric Bradley, Junior Boys Division Director, Team Member since 2016
Eric Bradley comes to us with over 30 years of experience working with children and is a resident of Dix Hills. He is currently a physical education teacher for the Levittown Public Schools. Eric worked as an elementary PE teacher for seventeen years and is currently working as a middle school PE teacher. Eric has various camp work experience including being an assistant director in the Great Neck public schools summer recreation program, for over a decade, and at Hofstra University. Eric enjoys the outdoors and is an avid runner.
Robyn Costa, Senior Girls Director, Team Member since 2008
Robyn holds the position of Senior Girls Director during the summer and is a Preschool teacher at Park Shore during the school year She has a degree in Special Education as well as Early Childhood Education and has been teaching a total of 18 years. Robyn lives in Commack with her husband and 2 boys ages 10 and 12 who both attend Park Shore Day Camp in the summer months. She looks forward to summer camp because she loves this camp and the campers very much!
Eric Perles, Senior Boys Director, Team Member since 2011
Ever since 1998, Eric has been fortunate enough to call Park Shore his home. Whether it was holding the title of day camper, travel camper, counselor in training, junior counselor, counselor, group leader, or director, he hasn’t failed to find that perfect combination of friendship and family in his Summer adventures. There isn’t an inch of this camp that he hasn’t formed a lasting memory on and can truly tell you that its impact has been profound throughout his life. His years at Park Shore and his passion for guiding campers each Summer has influenced him to choose education as a career. He is currently employed as an 8th grade science teacher at Farmingdale School District. No matter what time of year it is, one thing is for sure, you will always find Eric counting down the days until the next time you can find him at Park Shore.
Reid Solomon, Super Seniors Division Director, Team Member Since 2011
Reid came to Park Shore with 15 years of camp counselor experience. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and received his Masters in Earth Science at SUNY Stony Brook. He is a science teacher at Comsewogue High School and is a New York State Certified coach. Reid has a wife and two boys, all of whom have gone to Park Shore. As the Super Senior Director, Reid oversees all day-to-day operations of his groups. He arranges all of his division’s trips off camp as well as making sure everything runs smoothly while on camp too. From day one, Reid will be the one in charge of your child and will be only a phone call away with any questions or concerns you may have.
Christina Loffredo, Explorers Division Director, Team Member since 2010
Christina has been a member of the Park Shore family since she attended preschool at Park Shore. Christina began working at camp as a CIT and has been the Director of the Explorers Program since 2010. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Molloy College.
As the Director of the Explorer Division Christina has the opportunity to provide campers with a unique camp experience. Christina’s responsibilities include creating a fun-packed and exciting schedule for our Explorers. She is responsible for managing the overall functioning of the group while on camp grounds and at each venue that the group travels to. Each summer Christina looks forward to providing the campers with a safe nurturing environment that allows all campers the opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime. During her time off from camp Christina enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with her family.
Jim Walker, Superteen Division Director, Team member since 2007
Jim is responsible for our largest travel program. Along with his staff full of teachers, Jim ensures that the Superteen campers are having an amazing fun-filled summer, while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Each year the trips are selected for optimal fun! When not working in camp or at school, Jim spends most of his time with his 4 beautiful children. Jim received his undergraduate as well as his Masters from Queens College. Jim is a retired N.Y.P.D. police officer and currently a 4th grade Special Education teacher in P.S. 19, Corona Queens.
Lani Dudzinski, Special Events Director, Team Member since 2017
Lani is our new Director of Special Events at Park Shore. She is a local Commack mom whose children also attend Park Shore during the summer. During the school year she is a teacher’s assistant and was a junior boys group leader during the summer of 2017. She has gone to camp her whole life and knows how special summer is. Lani is looking forward to being a part of your child’s summer and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Ian Denson, Athletics Director, Team Member since 2015
Ian came to Park Shore as the Junior Boys’ Director. His extensive athletics experience and his drive to enhance Park Shore’s Athletics Program make him the perfect Athletics Director. Ian is responsible for overseeing and maximizing Park Shore’s growing sports program. The program will focus on sportsmanship, fundamentals, and competitive, fun game play! Ian’s collaboration and planning with highly qualified, professional leaders in the athletics field, fosters a team atmosphere where campers can gain the confidence and skills needed to reach new heights. Ian’s extensive knowledge and experience in athletics enables him to be a hands-on director. Ian is a graduate of Fordham University, where he played four years of Division One baseball. He has been a teacher in the South Huntington School District since 2003, all at Birchwood Intermediate School, where he was crowned the 2015 “Teacher of the Year.” Ian has 2 daughters who are Park Shore campers.
Steven Askew, Director of Extreme Adventure Program, Team Member since 2004
Steven started as a Sports Specialist and moved up to Extreme Specialist and eventually became the Extreme Adventure Director where he oversees the staff and campers at Bungee, Sky Trail High Ropes Course and the Rock Wall. In the off season he works with adults and children with Developmental Disabilities. In both of his professions he enjoys watching the individuals he works with improve their abilities and do amazing things.
Andrew Schwartz, Aquatics Director, Team Member since 2018
As Director of Aquatics, Andrew’s responsibilities include the scheduling and coordination of a wide variety of swim programs. Most important and most rewarding is the evaluation of all campers swim progress throughout the summer. Our campers are taught all skills at each level, which is aligned to the American Red Cross Water Safety Program. His number one concern is the safety of all campers and staff around the Park Shore pools.
Andrew’s background in the aquatics world began when he was 14 years old. He became a certified lifeguard while working at his high school natatorium in Half Hollow Hills. He then became a Water Safety Instructor and joined an area day camp as well as the Suffolk Y for several camp seasons. In addition, he worked as a lifeguard in the open water beaches for the Town of Huntington. While attending SUNY Buffalo, he continued to be involved in aquatics. After graduating college, Andrew coached the boys and girls swim teams at the Queens high school in which he is currently employed. In addition, he has organized and has led various swim programs for the Public School Athletic League for the past 14 summers. He is excited to return to his roots in Suffolk County in order to inspire the next generation of swimmers.
Andrew completed his Masters Degree in Education from Queens College and currently is a Social Studies Teacher in Queens, NY as well as holding an Advanced Certificate in School Building administration from C.W. Post.
Stacey Susinno, Extreme STEAM Science Kids Director, Team Member since 2015
Stacey inspires and motivates all of our Extreme STEAM Science Kids campers each day. She has taught Earth Science in the Port Washington school district for 7 years and has a Masters in Educational Technology. Stacey is currently involved in helping to revise and write new laboratory experiences for the Next Generation Science Standards. She looks forward to inspiring new makers with our rich STEAM curriculum!
Samantha Coiro, Director of Rookie Program and Specialists, Team Member since 2012
Samantha’s professional background includes over 16 years of experience as a Project Manager, corporate Technology Trainer and QA Analyst. Sam spent 9 years working in downtown Manhattan at Prudential Securities as a Vice President/Project Manager responsible for the software development and training of Financial Advisors and Traders on their financial and trading systems. Upon completion of a merger with Wachovia, Samantha then joined OpenLink Financial in Uniondale, where she worked for approximately 7 years as a Project Manager responsible for the implementation, delivery and training of Energy Trading and Risk Management software. Samantha is a proud mother of two children; a 9 year-old girl and a 6 year-old boy who are both graduates of Park Shore Preschool and are currently campers.
Marilyn Byron, Health Office Director, Team Member since 2005
As the Director of the Park Shore Country Day Camp Health Office it is Marilyn’s responsibility to provide care to our campers and staff, manage the daily activities of the health office and supervise the health care staff. She is proud to coordinate all health care functions, review each health record of campers and staff, along with our registered nurses, ensure compliance with our local Department of Health and meet all the standards of the American Camping Association. Marilyn will, on occasion, consult with our camp Medical Director and local pediatricians for advice and input on current health and wellness concerns at camp. It is her mission to maintain the health and wellness of the entire Park Shore family.
During the school year, Marilyn is employed by the Half Hollow Hills School District. In addition, she has been an active responder, Advanced Medical Technician with the Dix Hills Fire Department for 20 years. Marilyn spends much of her time training community sport clubs, camps, businesses, temples, churches and many more, in life-saving classes of CPR, AED, Epinephrine Administration, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Responding to Emergencies. Marilyn continues to ensure the safety of our camp by annually training Park Shore key staff is in CPR & AED and the administration of epinephrine. The Park Shore key staff also receives training in Advanced First Aid while the entire staff receives First Aid & Responding to Emergency Workshop – all prior to the first day of camp.
Josie Budah, Public Relations/Program Director & Media Director, Team Member since 2005
Josie’s love for photography has brought the energy and enthusiasm through pictures and videos, along with her photography staff, directly to our families on a daily basis. As Director of Programing, Josie makes sure each camp group has an amazing day of excitement, challenges and fun! After camp is over she gets to relive camp as she works on the Highlights Videos with the help of Trisha Schlackman, for all to enjoy and remember the magical memories made during the summer. Her favorite part of camp is getting to know all the campers and staff as she walks the 15 acre camp all day!
Sarah Doerrie, Director of Human Resources, Team Member since 2007
Sarah holds the title of Director of Human Resources for the Camp and School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Studies: Labor & Industrial Relations from SUNY Fredonia and has over 20 years experience as a Human Resource, Payroll & Training Executive. Sarah came to us from another family owned business named Sbarro where she led the Human Resources and Payroll divisions. Sarah is a proud Park Shore Graduate with three children attending camp once again this year. Staffing Park Shore with a fabulous team is her main goal and priority. She welcomes the opportunity to assist our staff and service our families during our 57th year here at Park Shore!
Tricia Mirando, Transportation Director, Team Member since 2009
Tricia has been an employee of Park Shore for 9 years. She is also a School Crossing Guard working in the 2nd police precinct for 20 years. She is married with two children who started in preschool at Park Shore and are still campers. Tricia creates and orchestrates all of the bus runs. She works closely with Educational Bus and Suffolk Transportation. She also reviews, recruits and assigns bus counselors for the bus runs. If there are any route or schedule changes, she communicates them to our Park Shore drivers, bus companies and/or camper’s group. If there are any transportation concerns, she speaks to all parties that are involved and is always in direct contact with all parents. Tricia is always just a phone call away and the safety of the children is always her first priority!
Trisha Schlackman, Marketing Director, Team Member since 2005
Trisha is responsible for managing the Park Shore website, email communications with our families and staff, as well as designing the brochures and print materials for our current families and those families that want to learn more about Park Shore. She also helps manage Park Shore’s Photo Gallery and Social Media accounts with Josie Budah. Trisha LOVES assisting with the communication between Park Shore and our families! She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from The University of Hartford. Trisha has two children who both grew up at Park Shore and are now staff members.
Sue Sinacore, Main Office Manager, Team Member since 1988
As a long-time year-round staff member, Sue’s responsibilities encompass many aspects of our business such as staff management, office efficiency and customer service. Her incredible organization skills help keep our team running smoothly. She also plays an integral part in brainstorming and planning ideas that lead to the growth and improvement of Park Shore as a whole. Sue’s is one of the friendly voices that our families have grown so accustomed to hearing when calling in to our office, and she takes great pleasure in making sure they are each taken care of. Sue recently became a grandmother last summer and is looking forward to the day her grandson can attend Park Shore as both of her children grew up here.
Alisa Lipton, Director of Sales, Team Member since 2008
As Director of Sales, Alisa is responsible for meeting and forming relationships with new families interested in joining the Park Shore family. She is also a liaison with our current families who return year after year. Alisa is also the bridge between Park Shore and the numerous companies and organizations who send their children to Park Shore. She also has 2 children who grew up at Park Shore. Alisa is from California and has a background in the Entertainment Industry.
Dawn Kulynych, Bookkeeper, Team Member since 2002
Dawn has worked in many areas of Park Shore before finding her home in the Bookkeeping Office. As a Park Shore Bookkeeper, Dawn assists in the administration of all Preschool and Camp financial statements and reconciles all student/campers accounts to ensure accuracy on all records. Dawn also assists with all School/ Camp credit card authorization forms and advises all School /Camp parents on their invoices. Dawn has two sons who grew up at Park Shore. Her oldest son is on our maintenance staff and her younger son is a C.I.T. this summer. She is looking forward to another amazing summer at Park Shore.
Debbie Thrush, Bookkeeper, Team Member since 2014
Debbie is a Park Shore Bookkeeper and is responsible for keeping accurate records, including processing invoices for payment and banking deposits. She loves numbers, balancing and reconciliations! Debbie’s previous jobs included working in all aspects of Finance within the Entertainment Industry, retiring after a 38 year career. Debbie attended Pace University.
Michele Budah-Posa, Bookkeeper, Team Member since 1994
Michele has been part of Park Shore since she was a preschooler. She has seen all aspects of the camping industry from starting as a camper at 3 years old to becoming a CIT to Group Leader and eventually becoming a Director. Michele currently works in the bookkeeping office and truly enjoys working with the Park Shore families. Helping our parents with enrolling their children and providing outstanding customer service has allowed Michele to create personal relationships with so many families. Planning Park Shore’s 3 travel programs itineraries and working with the travel directors is also a passion of Michele’s. Continuing the Budah tradition of working at Park Shore and sharing that experience with her daughter brings her much joy.
Liz Anderson, Director’s Office Staff, Team Member since 2009
Liz had the absolute pleasure of growing up at Park Shore. At three years old she began as a preschooler and now she can still say that the experiences and memories she had at Park Shore are irreplaceable. Seeing the masses of smiling children not only makes her happy because she know they are having a blast but because she knows they are having the same quality experience that she was able to grow up with. She was always inspired by Park Shore. The school and the camp allowed her to step into the education world. Growing up with a mother who is a long-time teacher at the school, along with her own personal experiences working here she learned an incredible amount. She will be graduating college in May with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, with a certification in Special Education and a minor in Literacy. She began working in 2009 as a runner in the Director’s Office, from there she moved to become the preschool science specialist. In 2014 she moved back to the Director’s Office. Liz facilitates communication between camper families and the directors and group leaders and also supervises various daily attendances. She also oversees end of the day dismissal to ensure that all of our campers make it home safely.
Carrie LaManna, Director’s Office Staff, Team Member since 2013
During the camp season Carrie works as part of the Director’s Office Team. She helps ensure that the children arrive to their groups safely as well as taking care of any special requests the parents may have. During the school year Carrie is the Executive Chef at Park Shore. She designs the lunch menu making sure our children have nutritious and delicious menu options. Carrie has a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management. Carrie has three children two of which attend Park Shore during the school year and camp season.
Joan Lyons, Director’s Office Staff, Team Member since 2010
During the camp season, Joan assists in the Director’s Office with photo scheduling, parent phone calls, and a variety of other duties to help with the smooth running of that office. In addition, her artistic talents are utilized in a variety of ways, especially for the Performing Arts production. During the school year, Joan is a member of the Main Office Staff and wears many hats as she assists with staff interview scheduling, answering the phones, decoration of many of the teacher’s boards in their classrooms, and meal preparation for our preschoolers.
Cathy Gucker, Culinary Director, Team Member Since 2013
Cathy is responsible for overseeing the staff, purchasing and preparing the food. She is a Certified Food Manager and adheres to all the Health and Safety regulations. She is also in direct contact with the Park Shore Health Office for any allergies or dietary needs for our campers and staff.
Cathy has over 10 years experience in the Half Hollow Hills School District in the food service department preparing and cooking nutritional meals for the faculty and students grades K-12.
Cathy also works for a non-profit organization assisting homeless families to fulfill their goals towards obtaining permanent housing and independent living. Her job requirements include assisting in parenting, money management, resources for mental health counseling, educational and employment endeavors. Even though each day is filled with challenges, she gets a great deal of satisfaction in helping her clients obtain their goals.
Bobby Ehlich, Maintenance Director, Team Member since 2008
Bobby maintains Park Shore’s buildings and grounds of our beautiful 15 acre campus. His responsibilities include managing the maintenance staff as well as making sure all of our amazing facilities are in great working order for the fun and safety of our campers and students. Bobby’s deftness in construction at Park Shore is one of his amazing attributes. Bobby received a degree from New England Institute of Technology in Automotive Engineering.
